Children up to 18 years of age may eat breakfast for free at the summer school locations through a federal Simplified Summer Food Program, sponsored by the Bellingham School District. The free breakfast is open to all children, regardless of summer school enrollment.

Free breakfast will be served from 8 to 8:30 a.m. at Bellingham High School and from 8:30 to 9 a.m. at Roosevelt Elementary School and Shuksan Middle School, Mondays through Thursdays, July 7-Aug 7. The locations are as follows:

  • Roosevelt Elementary, 2900 Yew St.
  • Shuksan Middle School, 2713 Alderwood Ave.
  • Bellingham High School, 2020 Cornwall Ave.

Staff plan all meals in the district to meet federal and district fitness and nutrition standards. Bellingham School District's food services department has received four United State Department of Agriculture Regional Excellence awards for its lunch programs and the Washington Food Policy Action Center Golden Milk Carton Award for its breakfast program.
