The Bellingham School District's Central Services Building at 1306 Dupont Street will feature student artwork as a stop on the Allied Arts Children's Gallery Walk beginning at 6 p.m. May 2. Musical performances by students will be held in the Board Room, where refreshments will be available. Performances will begin at 6:15 p.m. with the Carl Cozier Elementary School fourth-graders, followed by the Roosevelt Elementary School fourth and fifth grade choir at 6:45 p.m. The event is free and is open to the public.
The exhibit will include art from a districtwide art project titled "Identity," a broad theme which encouraged students to go beyond the basic self-portrait. More than 100 pieces of artwork created by preschool students through 12th graders will be on display for viewing. Several of the pieces from the exhibit will be selected as the artwork for the 2008-09 District Family Calendar and Handbook.
