All Bellingham Schools are operating on an early release schedule on Monday, May 19. The early release schedule is:
- 10:30 a.m. dismissal for high school students
- 11:30 a.m. dismissal for middle school students
- 12:30 p.m. dismissal for elementary students
- 12:30 p.m. dismissal for Options/GRADS
There will be no morning kindergarten on May 19. Afternoon kindergarten will attend school in the morning. Click here for the year-long kindergarten early release schedule.
High schools only also have an early release on Tuesday, May 20 with dismissal at 10:30 a.m.

Elementary, middle and high school staff members use the time on these days that students leave early for professional development to improve student learning.
On May 19, educational consultant Ken O'Connor will be working with teachers at the four middle schools. He is a well-known expert on assessment, grading and reporting practices in schools across the United States, Canada,and many other countries. He has written two books on the subject and many articles for educationally-related journals and magazines. His presentation, "A Repair Kit for Grading: 15 Fixes for Broken Grades" will help support the ongoing work of the district's Standards-based Report Card Committee, which is in the process of creating a standards-based middle school report card.
