Please click here to view the updated 2009-10 school year calendar for the Bellingham School District. Thanks to the Whatcom Educational Credit Union, families and staff will receive a magnetic version of this calendar in mid-August in the annual back-to-school mailing.

The state Legislature only funded one of the Learning Improvement Days (LID) for teacher professional development to improve student learning. The district and Bellingham Education Association (BEA) have decided that this day for staff will occur before school begins. The previously planned LID for Nov. 20 has been cancelled and this will be a regular school day. This means that the last day of school for next school year has been changed to June 17, 2010. (Please note that emergency closures due to weather or other circumstances could change the last day of school.) To make up for the lost professional development time, three early releases have been added and are posted in the updated calendar.

The first day of school for all students in the fall is Tuesday, Sept. 8.
