Bellingham Public Schools are enrolling for fall. Please contact our schools to learn more about program offerings, events to welcome new students and families, tour schedules and opportunities to meet school leaders. Families interested in enrolling their children in a Bellingham Public School outside of their attendance area or school boundary area are reminded about the district's transfer policy 3131 and procedures 3131P. Please review the policy and procedures for transfer details and conditions. Transfer requests will continue to be a one-year placement on a space-available basis. All district families who transfer are responsible for transportation to and from any transfer school.

Transfer request procedures occur in two phases to allow families to receive earlier notification regarding decisions.

During the first phase, families may submit the form for Request for Student Area Transfer between Schools in the Bellingham School District by the end of the school day on Wednesday, March 10 to the school in their current attendance area for priority consideration for the 2010-11 school year. Principals will then meet to review the first round of transfer requests. Families will be notified of the transfer request decision in mid-April. 

The second phase will be a districtwide lottery, which will be held during the last week of August based on available spaces at each school. 

For out-of-district transfer requests, please review policy 3141 and procedure 3141P, and complete form 3141F.
