Dear King Parents-please take note: EXCITING LEARNING OPPORTUNITY TOMORROW NIGHT!
Have you wondered how to best support your child’s reading at home?
In December, I held a parent workshop that helped parents know how to best support their child’s reading at home. We talked about phonemic awareness and its importance in building your child’s reading and writing skills. We also talked about ways to support your child as he/she figures out tricky words, understands what he/she reads, and increase his/her reading fluency. The parents who attended left with many great ideas that they could begin using with their children right away. One parent said it was the best parent workshop she had ever been to. If you missed this workshop in December, I hope you can join me this Thursday!
This workshop is especially appropriate for parents of K-2 students, but any parent would benefit!
Date: Thursday, February 18th Time: 6:30-8:30 p.m. Where: Wade King Library
ALSO: Reminder that next Monday, Feb. 22nd is an EARLY RELEASE for all students. PM Kindergarten will meet in the morning. NO AM kindergarten on Feb. 22nd.
