The transportation funding that we receive from Washington state for the entire school year is determined by the number of students who ride the bus to school for a minimum of three mornings (or mid-day to kindergarten) during this designated week. </description>

				<description>The Bellingham School District is working with the Assistance League of Bellingham and the Operation School Bell program to provide free, new clothes for elementary school children who qualify. The program is for children in kindergarten through fifth grade who are eligible for the free and reduced-price meal plan through the school district.</description>

				<description>Bellingham High School is the first high school in the district to implement the &quot;Food to Flowers&quot; program as of Sept. 30. &quot;Food to Flowers&quot; is a food waste recycling program. Leftover food, fruits, milk cartons, napkins and non-plastic containers are recycled in the school cafeteria.</description>
