Provide Input on Characteristics, Experience Desired in New Superintendent

The Bellingham School District is fortunate to have Sherrie Brown to serve as Acting Superintendent until a new superintendent is selected by the School Board. One of the most critical functions legally required of the School Board is the selection of the best possible superintendent. Several superintendent recruitment and selection options exist. Before embarking on a process, the School Board has asked the Northwest Educational Service District 189 (as an interested third-party) to:

1) Assess how student, staff and community perceptions compare to those identified two years ago; and

2) Recommend a superintendent selection process and timeline that meets the District’s needs.
